Does Pacific Gulgangali Jarjums have school tours?

Yes, our school conducts a number of School tours throughout the school year. It would be our pleasure to welcome your family to Pacific Gulgangali Jarjums Christian School where you can meet our staff, gain insight into our learning community, and see how we can support your child.

When is the best time to submit an enrolment application?

Pacific Gulgangali Jarjums is delighted to receive enrolment applications right throughout the School year. No cut-off dates are applied.

Do I have to be a Christian or attend church to enrol my child?

No. Pacific Gulgangali Jarjums Christian School invites and welcomes families of many and varied backgrounds and faiths to enrol their children. Pacific Gulgangali Jarjums, however, does require all families and children who are enrolled in our school to respect and support the Christian beliefs, vision, values, and mission of our school. In providing a quality Christian education, Pacific Gulgangali Jarjums is a centre of teaching, learning and serving excellence grounded in Biblical foundations. All students are encouraged to explore and develop their personal journey of Christian faith and to be fully engaged in all school activities.

Pacific Gulgangali Jarjums is required to teach the curriculum in alignment with the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA) guidelines. However, as a distinctly Christian educational community, the curriculum is framed by the Christian worldview and is taught from a Biblical perspective.

What Year Groups does Pacific Gulgangali Jarjums provide an education for?

Pacific Gulgangali Jarjums is a safe, nurturing, and supportive NESA Registered school catering for Kindergarten to Year 6 with students graduating to the adjacent Pacific Coast Christian Schools for Years 7 to 12. Our school is a place where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Jarjums (children) can explore culture while receiving a high-quality, curriculum-based education in a supportive environment.

What is the entry age for Kindergarten?

Children in NSW are required by law to commence mandatory schooling by their 6th birthday. Your child can begin Kindergarten at the start of the school year if they turn 5 on or before 31 July the year they commence. Children develop and learn in varying ways. As a parent, deciding when your child should start school, it is important for you to consider the readiness of your child emotionally, socially, and academically.

What are the school opening hours?

School commences at 8:30am and finishes at 2:45pm. Our school office hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday during term time and from 9:00am to 3:00pm during school holidays.

What transport options are available?

There are several options for travel to and from Pacific Gulgangali Jarjums including a complimentary private bus service. This service is designed to ease the daily commute, providing a safe and convenient transportation option for our students.

What Extra-Curricular options are available?

Learning experiences are enhanced through our rich and robust extracurricular program. We ensure that all Jarjums have access to on-country learning and deepening their knowledge about our culture through our teachers and elders. We have weekly culture classes with local Indigenous cultural groups or local elders, cultural incursions, and excursions visiting places of interest on Bundjalung land or surrounding areas.

Pacific Gulgangali Jarjums also offers a variety of activities for students to explore and develop their God-given natural talents and gifts in the areas of creative arts, competition sports, and school clubs.

Does the School provide an OOSH Service?

Pacific Gulgangali Jarjums and Pacific Coast seeks to support parents by offering an onsite, out of school hours service known as TASK (The After School Klub). TASK is an afternoon program operating between 2:45pm to 6:30pm. Our TASK program offers a familiar, safe and nurturing Christian-based environment for Kindergarten to Year 6 students.
